After the Revolution Robert & Mary Lindley Murray's farm was sold & became a site for the summer homes of wealthy New Yorkers - by mid 19th C. Murray Hill was a wealthy Victorian, residential neighborhood that later developed into today's dynamic, austere 20th C. Manhattan neighborhood.
